How to Install Abaqus?

We have created an installation guide to aid customers who wants to install Abaqus by themselves.

Note: Be sure that your workstation is fully supported to install the software. For certified workstations, please go to https://www.3ds.com/support/hardware-and-software/hardware-and-software-configurations/

Download Installation File (Optional)

1. Go to: 3ds.com/support/download/
2. Select Access your Download.

3. Login using your 3DEXPERIENCE credentials.

4. Select SIMULIA and afterwards SIMULIA Abaqus, Isight, fe-safe, Tosca

5. Select the appropriate Release year and select Golden from the Level drop-down menu.
6. Find SIMULIA Abaqus Installation File. Ensure proceed to download all the files.

If there are several download icons showing, make sure to download all the files.

Unzip Files

We recommend using 7-Zip to unzip the files.  If you do not have 7-Zip, you can download it by going to their website, click here.

1. Highlight the downloaded zip files.
2. Right-click and go to 7-Zip->Extract Here.
3. You should end up with a single extracted folder.

Abaqus Installation

1. In folder 1, right-click on setup.exe and select “Run as administrator”.

2. The Abaqus Suite installation will startup. Click Next to proceed with the installation process.

3. Select the programs you would like to install.

By default, we will select the checkmarks of SIMULIA Established Products, SIMULIA Established Products CAA API and Isight then click Next.

4. Click Install to start the installation of Abaqus.

5. The SIMULIA Established Products product installer will start up. Define an installation directory, or keep it default as shown. Click Next.

6. Specify which components you want to install. In this default installation we will select all components which you can use with the Abaqus license. Click Next.

7. Select the right license manager. This installation will use SIMULIA FLEXnet. Click Next.

• If you use SIMULIA Flexnet, specify 27000@license server name
• If you use DSLS, specify license server name: 4085

8. Specify a local or external license server.

Below license server is defined in the local pc, so we define 27000@localhost. Click Next.

9. Define a commands directory, or keep it default as shown. Click Next.

10. Define a temporary directory, or keep it default as shown. Click Next.

11. Define a plugin directory, or keep it default as shown. Click Next.

12. Select other Tosca Solver interfaces if required. Click Next.

13. An overview window is shown. If ok, click Install. The installation will start.

14. During installation, a verification will be done. Click Continue.

15. Once the installation is complete, the following window will pop up. Click Close.

16. The SIMULIA Established Products CAA API product installer will start up. Automatically the previous SIMULIA Established Products installation is selected, keep the default selection. Click Next.

17. Keep the default selection. Click Next.

18. An overview window is shown. Click Install. The installation will start.

19.Once the installation is complete, the following window will pop up. If the installation did not complete, contact support@seacadtech.com.

Click Close.

ISIGHT INSTALLATION

1. The SIMULIA Isight 2023 installer will start up. Define an Isight directory, or keep it default as shown. Click Next.

2. Specify which components you want to install. Select Isight Desktop. Click Next.

SIMULIA Execution Engine enables users to distribute and parallelize the execution of simulations and Isight simulation process flows across available compute resources and share Isight simulation process flows and results.

3. As the SEE is not installed, leave the default setting to Skip this for now. Click Next.

4. As the Documentation is not installed, leave the default setting to Skip documentation configuration for now. Click Next.

5. An overview window is shown. Click Install. The installation will start.

6. Once the installation is complete, the following window will pop up. If the installation did not complete, contact support@seacadtech.com.

Click Close.
