Trying to apply customized Weldment profiles for a structural member can be a struggle, even for an experienced SOLIDWORKS user. Many users will encounter that their selections do not match their intended choices or are simply blank, even after adding their “weldment profiles” folder location in their System Options [Fig.2 arrow].

In this easy to digest blog, we will see where each selection option [No. 1, 2 & 3 from Fig.1] within a Structural Member feature is defined from.

Selections options

“Standard” (1): The folder name of your Library Feature Part files  [No.1 from Fig.2]

“Type”         (2): Your Library Feature Part file name (.sldlfp)  [No.2 from Fig.2]

“Size”            (3): Create multiple configuration names for the “Size”  [No.3 from Fig.3]
