SOLIDWORKS What’s New 2025 in Weldment

1. Improve Access to Structure System

With SOLIDWORKS 2025, accessing the Structure System is more intuitive than ever. If you don’t typically keep the Structure System tab visible in your Command Manager, the software now offers a helpful prompt whenever you open a model containing an existing structure system. This automatic prompt allows you to activate the Structure System tab instantly, making it easy to jump right into your work with minimal setup.

There are also distinct buttons for creating and editing structural system that helps to streamline your workflow and reduce the chance of accidentally creating a new structure system when you intend to edit an existing one. For new files, the Command Manager displays Create Structure System, allowing you to start defining primary and secondary structural members. For files that include a structure system, both Create Structure System and Edit Structure System appear, so you can easily add new members or modify the existing structure.

2. Access and Work with Favourite Profiles

The new Add to Favourites feature in weldments allows you to easily access and manage your favourite profiles. Previously, you had to browse through a long list of profiles each time you wanted to change the type or size, which was time consuming. With this new feature, you can save your most frequently used profiles and access them instantly under Profile on the Member tab.

3. Complex Corner Property Manager

The Complex Corner property manager has been updated to make it easier to create and edit structural systems. Previously, you had to select members under the Corner Treatment tab and use the arrow icon to move a selected body between Body Trim and Planar Trim. With this new update, a convenient callout appears directly in the graphics area, allowing you to switch between Body Trim and Planar Trim with a single click. Besides that, the Corner Treatment tab now provides a clear overview of the treatment type applied to each structural members, making it much easier to manage complex corner configurations.
